Home Sweet Home
No matter where I land
When I'm not slaving away at work, I'm relaxing at Chez Sheila.
Last year, I purchased a new house in the same town I've been mliving
in for the last 11 years. My original home was a 100 yr old twin,
in town, and with a small backyard. My new home is a rancher on
a 1/2acre of land, so it's been quite the change. My danes and I
LOVE the country setting and the fascinating outdoors (although
I lvoe gazing at the outdoors from a comfy chair on the deck!).
You'll notice that I am not afraid of color--my goal was to have
deep dusky jewelry box for of room colors that made you feel warm
and cozy. See the house>>
The house is constantly in need of costly repairs, which I usually
manage to just squeeze in to the total chaos that is my budget.
And, of course, there are small and large projects ongoing. Stay
tuned for details and pictures, provided I am motivated :-) Check
out my household projects>>
I like to relax at home, curling up on the couch for a cozy read
with the pups. I also like to watch movies, although I don't watch
too much TV. In the last few weeks of 2004, I discovered Buffy the
Vampire Slayer (the TV show), and collected the DVDs from all 7
seasons. Good stuff! This year, I've discovered NCIS, so am catching
up on past seasons of that, and Burn Notice, which is a slightly
quirky, modern take on MacGuyver for spies. Do
we like the same movies? Find out>>
When I go away, I try to maintain a certain comfort level--I'm
none too fond of roughing it! I have a biennial week at a timeshare
in Sedona, AZ. Because I adore the region so much and feel a real
connection to it, I typically don't trade it in for a week at another
location. There's so much to see and do, and it's all so very lovely.
I always come back more in tune with myself and the world around
me. How great is Sedona? Find out>>
I also travel to Annapolis several times a year. I love the docks
and the ambience of the town, where old world charm and the sea
combine to make for a relaxing break. I meet friends for dinner
and lunch, shop and take in the sights. It's a nice way to get away
for a weekend.
Other destinations beckon too, and I go as I'm able to depending
on work, dogs and friends.
