Woofy (fostered 12/20/08-12/27/08)

Adopted 12/27/08: Woofy was adopted
today by a family with 2 kids and an older dog. It was unexpected
but a great opportunity for Woofy to settle down for 2 weeks while
her new mom was on vacation. She was only with me for a week, but
I grew very attached to her. She was an easy companion who was interested
and engaged, happy and laid back.
Update 12/24/08: Woofy is settling
in quickly at her new foster home. She's inquisitive, gentle, and
very sweet. She has done well gated in the kitchen but the foster
suspects that she'd be fine with run of the house. She's a calm
girl who has small bouts of energy. She loves stuffies and people
food, and seems to enjoy outdoors as well. She's been cat tested
in a house and passed. What a wonderul companion!! Woofy is currently
in heat and can't be spayed until mid-February. She will be available
after spay.
Original December 2008: Mercer is
a 4 1/2 year old fawn female with cropped and standing ears. She
came to rescue due to her family divorcing and not being able to
find an apartment that will allow her to stay with her family. Mercer's
nickname is Woofy, which was what her owner called her the majority
of the time. She is a friendly who is excellent with children, having
grown up with one. She does well with small dogs, and we are still
testing her on larger dogs. She should do well if introduced slowly.
Mercer lived on 14 acres with free run and is not well socialized
with other animals. She chases chipmunks and her owner felt that
she would most likely chase cats. Mercer loves her crate and when
frightened will go hang out in there. She is afraid of thunder,
lightening, and gun fire. She loves apple pieces and will sit in
your lap or lean in true Dane manner. Mercer came to MAGDRL in December
2008.
